Already booked your summer trip to our dearest Amsterdam? Can’t blame you. It’s the best city to go during this period of time. We’ve listed you some hotspots and activities within the trendy East part of Amsterdam, just a few minutes away from the coolest kid in town: Hotel Casa.
Brouwerij ‘t IJ
Ok, dear beer lovers, this is THE place to go in Amsterdam. Brouwerij ‘t IJ brews its own Amsterdam specialty beers, and although its beers are being sold at many places within the city, you’d better grab one of their originals at their very own terrace. The big yet cozy terrace next to the windmill serves you not only a wide variety of beers but also plenty of sun rays.
De Vergulden Eenhoorn
Just around the corner of Hotel Casa, you’ll find an idyllic city farm where you can enjoy the finest cravings and dishes. This serene hotspot is the perfect place to escape the bustle of the city. Whether inside in the old – and transformed – cowshed, or outside in their enormous picnic garden. De Vergulden Eenhoorn is highly recommended!
Green, Green, and Green. Lots of Green. It all can be found just a stone throw away from Hotel Casa. During summer days, the locals head to the park for a picnic, a barbecue, a game of football, some biking or whatever game they’d like to play. Join the crowd and mingle with the locals. Relaxing and perfect to enjoy the Amsterdam summer feelings to the fullest. Also, around the historic Frankendael Estate, exciting events are being held on a regular basis. The so-called Pure Markt for example, offers you a taste of a wide variety of crafts food.
Can’t get enough of parks? Head to the Oosterpark. Another pearl in our East area!
Of course, you can take a regular canal tour where the professionals will tell you all about the city of Amsterdam. But much more fun is renting your own little boat and start to explore yourself. A good place for a stop would be Hannekes Boom. A locals’ favorite.
Who says zoos are for children? We adore the zoo, and especially Artis. The oldest (1838) and most famous zoo of The Netherlands. And lucky for you, you now can get a glimpse of the newborn Elephant.
There is more; discover like a local
In case you didn’t notice before, the Dutch love their bicycle, and especially in Amsterdam. It’s the best way to move around the city, and probably the most fun as well. This way you’ll see a lot of the city’s beauty and find yourself in places you wouldn’t go without the Casa bike. And of course, the Casa team will share more of their secret hotspots whenever you’re there!
