On Thursday January 30th it’s up to the Vieux Cocktail. You can just walk in to have a cocktail, without making a reservation.

About the Vieux Cocktail

The Vieux Carré (often shortened to “Vieux”) is a sophisticated, spirit-forward cocktail originating in New Orleans. Its name translates to „Old Square,“ paying homage to the French Quarter. This drink combines whisky, cognac, sweet vermouth, and herbal liqueurs, creating a rich, complex blend of flavours with a smooth and warming finish. Perfect for those who enjoy a bold and refined cocktail.

A quick cocktail recipe

✷ Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.

✷ Add 25 ml of rye whisky, 25 ml of cognac, 25 ml of sweet vermouth, and 5 ml of Bénédictine liqueur.

✷ Add 2 dashes each of Peychaud’s bitters and Angostura bitters.

✷ Stir gently for about 20 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.

✷ Strain into a chilled rocks glass with a large ice cube.

✷ Garnish with a lemon twist for a bright citrus aroma.

✷ Serve and savour the depth of this iconic cocktail.
