Hey gappie!

Please understand it is not business as usual, so I ask a little bit of flexibility from you. Together we can make this city a bit better, right?

So, sorry to be so strict:

  • Only reservations at the moment. Sorry, I can’t accept walk-ins;

  • I can’t host groups larger than four. Hopefully more soon!;

  • Birthday parties? Sorry, not at the moment. Happy birthday though!;

  • Exclusive hires? We love your enthusiasm, but it’s simply not the right time;

In case the reservation system does not show available spots during your preferred time slot, it means we’re fully booked. Please try another time slot or date.

I’d love to accommodate all wishes, however due to the current situation and regulation I’m simply forced to stick to the above.

Nevertheless, I can’t wait to see you all again!

Later,

WHAT's In a name

The story of Hotel Casa starts in 1957, with four friends and one dream; creating affordable student housing in Amsterdam.

One of those four holds an extra special place in our hearts; Gabbe Scheltema. Founder of Casa, purebred Amsterdam, our ‘gap’ (typical Amsterdam for ‘buddy’) and involved with us until the last moment.

Now, 64 years later, he lives on in our green rooftop garden, high above the bustling city.

Can I reserve a table for drinks or dinner?

Due to the current situation we only take reservations. We'll promise you the vibe is pretty relaxed, but bookings are mandatory. To make a booking, check the widget on the right of this site. Take it easy!

Can I (privately) hire GAPP for an event?

Good question! We usually don't privately hire our rooftop from Thursday through Sunday. For the other days please get in touch at info@gapp-amsterdam.nl with your ideas. See you soon!

Wait?! GAPP? Wasn't the rooftop named HOPP before?

Excellent question! Well informed we must say! We decided to honor one of our founding fathers, Gabbe Scheltema, by naming our rooftop to him. GAPP, derived from Gabbe, is also Mokums (typical vocabulary from Amsterdam) for friend or buddy. Get it? In case you want to know more, please come to GAPP and we'll tell you more about it!
