WHAT's In a name

The story of Hotel Casa starts in 1957, with four friends and one dream; creating affordable student housing in Amsterdam.

One of those four holds an extra special place in our hearts; Gabbe Scheltema. Founder of Casa, purebred Amsterdam, our ‘gap’ (typical Amsterdam for ‘buddy’) and involved with us until the last moment.

Now, 66 years later, he lives on in our green rooftop garden, high above the bustling city.
