Arrival & Departure

From what time can I check in?

Your room is ready after 15.00 hours. Should you be at Hotel Casa earlier, we do check the possibility of checking you in earlier, depending on the availability of your room. You can of course leave your luggage with us until check-in time.

Until what time can I check in?

You can check in up to 24.00 hours. Please let us know if you're planning to arrive later than 24.00 hours.

Can I leave my luggage with you for a while before or after my stay?

Of course! We have a closed-off luggage room. We are happy to keep an eye on it for you. Please note that leaving luggage is at your own risk. We don't accept any responsibility for theft or damage.

I received an email that mentions I can check in online. Is that necessary?

No, it's not required. But it speeds up the check-in process at lot, so we do recommend it. You can also do this after arriving at the hotel.

Until what time can I check out?

The standard check-out time is 11:00 AM. If you want to stay longer, please see the question below.

I want to stay longer in the room. Do you allow a late check-out?

You can stay longer in your room if you want. For €10 per hour, you can check out later up until 16.00 hours. To make use of this option, please ring reception to request it on the morning of your check-out at the latest. Late check-out depends on availability.


How do I get to the hotel?

Hotel Casa is easy to get to by taxi, car, public transport, and by bike. We have a list of all means of transport on this page. Still have questions? You can simply use this link to contact us as well.

Can I park at the hotel?

Yes! You can park in our underground parking garage, or in parking spaces in streets around the hotel. Our parking garage rates are €4.00 per hour with a maximum of €27.50 per 24 hours. Parking space is subject to availability: unfortunately, we can't reserve it for you. Fortunately, there are usually spaces free! I need a taxi. Can you help me?

Of course! We have good experiences with Travel Electric. You can easily book a taxi via this link.

Do you sell tickets for public transport?

Yes, you can buy various tickets for the metro, tram and bus at reception.

Is the hotel located close to the city centre?

Hotel Casa is located in Amsterdam-Oost, not far from the city centre. The centre begins about 1.5 km from our hotel. That's less than 10 minutes away by bike or public transport.

Eating & Drinking

Do I have to reserve the breakfast in advance, or can I do that during my stay?

If you would like to enjoy our breakfast buffet you can book it in advance of your stay. However, if you haven’t made your mind up just yet, you can pass by the reception or the breakfast host to help you out. The buffet costs €15 per person per day and €7,50 for children up to 11 years.

What are the opening hours for the breakfast?

You can use the breakfast from Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 10:00, and in the weekend between 07:00 and 11:00.

What does the breakfast have to offer?

Kick-start your day with an energizing breakfast! We offer eggs, bacon, delicious pastries and pancakes. Are you looking for a lighter and healthier option? No worries, we also have yogurt with muesli and fresh fruits. We assure for something to everyone’s liking, simply follow the smell of freshly baked croissants and breads.

Do you have a restaurant?

Can the restaurant cater for allergies and special diets?

Yes, we are happy to cater for any diet requirements or allergies. Just let our restaurant staff know.

When is the GAPP roof terrace open?

GAPP is open from Wednesday to Sunday between 11:00 - 21:00, when the weather allows.

Where can I find out about any interesting events the hotel is organising?

In the hotel

What does on request housekeeping mean?

Hotel Casa offers on request housekeeping service. There is no daily cleaning as per standard, except on the fourth day of each stay. This green cleaning policy saves loads of water and energy and reduces the footprint of your stay. If you wish to use our cleaning service sooner, please let us know. You can do this by placing your hanger on your door or calling reception (dial 9 on the phone in your room) before 12.00 noon. Let’s unite for a greener world!

Can I rent a bike from the hotel?

Yes, bike rent costs €18,50 per day and €11 for 3 hours, and is subject to availability. 

You can pop by our reception to rent a bike, but it's also possible to reserve a bike in advance of your stay. If you want to make use of our Casa bikes, you can request it through this link. Team Casa will then check your filled in details and will let you know if a bike is available for you on the requested day(s). Please note: the reservation is only final when you receive a confirmation from us through email. Enjoy the city!

Are pets allowed?

No. We really love animals, but we want to strongly inform you that it is not allowed to bring animals to Hotel Casa. Not in either the hotel, the restaurant or the hotel room. If you do, you will receive a fine of €100.

Are there age restrictions on staying in the hotel?

No, everyone is welcome! Are you younger than 18 years? Then we need permission from your parents or guardians via e-mail and a copy of their passport so that they can make the reservation.

Can I smoke in the hotel?

No, smoking is not allowed in the hotel. All rooms are equipped with a smoke detector. Violations of the smoking policy are fined. Fortunately, there are various outdoor areas around the hotel where you can smoke.

Does the hotel have conference facilities?

Hotel Casa has 14 conference rooms. Whether you want to organise a brainstorm or training session, workshop, or small or large multi-day conference, we are delighted to help. Want to find out more? Go to www.hotelcasa.nl/meetings.

Does the hotel have a gym?

Hotel Casa doesn't have its own gym. If you would like more information on the nearest gym that meets your needs, hotel reception will be happy to help you.

Can I have my clothes washed or dry-cleaned at the hotel?

At the moment we don't offer laundry service, our apologies for the inconvenience.


How do I make a reservation?

How do I cancel or change a reservation?

If you've booked directly via Hotel Casa, you can cancel up to 24 hours after making the booking. Do you want to cancel after 24 hours? Check which rate type you've booked. Rate type "NONREF" can't be cancelled after 24 hours without charge. Rate type "BAR" can be cancelled or changed up to 24 hours before the official check-in time (15:00 hours). You can do this via the link in your confirmation e-mail, or by contacting us via reservations@hotelcasa.nl. If you haven't booked directly via Hotel Casa, check the cancellation conditions of the organisation where you made the booking.

What is the difference between a flexible and a non-flexible rate?

We have two different types of reservations:
Flexible rate: this means you can cancel or change your reservation up to 24 hours before your official check-in time.
Non-flexible rate: this reservation can only be made with a credit card. This way, the total amount is deducted from your credit card at the moment of reservation. After making the reservation, it's no longer possible to cancel or change it.

Can I make a reservation for 4 persons in one room?

No, the maximum number is 3 persons (for a triple room) You can book two separate rooms for 4-person reservations. If available, we can reserve two adjoining rooms with a dividing door to connect them. Contact our reservations department reservations@hotelcasa.nl to arrange this option.

Does the hotel have cots for babies?

Yes, cots are available. They are for children up to about 3 years. Need a cot? Notify us when you make the reservation.


What is the tourist tax and when do I pay it?

Everyone who stays in a hotel in Amsterdam and who doesn't live in Amsterdam pays tourist tax to the municipality. For 2020, the tourist tax is 7% of the room price + €3 per person per night. Young people under 16 years are not taxed. The tourist tax is included when you pay the total room price.

I need an invoice. How do I get one?

Did you make a reservation directly via Hotal Casa? Then you get an invoice when you check out of the hotel. You didn't receive an invoice? Then e-mail to accounting@hotelcasa.nl with your reservation details. They will be happy to help! Did you make a reservation via another organisation? Then request your invoice from them.

Do I have to give out my credit card information?

Yes, with each booking we request your credit card information as guarantee for the booking. The credit card is usually charged one day before the reservation, unless you already paid while making it.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all worldwide-valid credit cards. You can also pay with a debit card and cash card in the hotel. We don't accept cash for security reasons.

In the room

What are the extra bed options?

Unfortunately, due to fire safety regulations, we do not place extra beds in our rooms. Book one of our triple rooms if you want to stay with 3 people in a room.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?

Because the Netherlands does not experience long periods of extreme heat, many buildings choose not to install environmentally polluting air conditioners. This also applies to Hotel Casa. Therefore, Hotel Casa's rooms do not have air conditioning.


The hotel building is equipped with an automatic climate control system that maintains the overall temperature and air quality. Through this system, the temperature in the hotel room can be adjusted by about 2 degrees.


The temperature controller has 2 settings; one for heating and one for cooling. Slide the controller to the snowflake icon and turn the knob to blue to cool the room. Do you want to heat the room slightly? Then slide the controller to the heat waves icon and turn the knob to red.


Is it still really too hot or too cold in the room? Then fortunately we always have a number of mobile fans and heaters available. To do this, call our colleagues at reception by dialling '9' from the landline in the room. They will be happy to bring these to you!

What facilities are supplied in the rooms?

Each room is equipped with a:

  • wardrobe
  • TV
  • desk
  • safe
  • mini-bar that you can fill yourself

Naturally, we supply fine bedlinen, towels and toiletry articles for use during your stay.

Can I iron my clothes?

On the 2nd floor you will find our ironing room. Take the elevator on the side of our coffee bar to the 2nd floor and turn left. At the end of the corridor, to the left again, you will find the ironing facilities next to the microwave.
