Empowering Women Through Art Workshop for International Women’s Day.

CASA is a place where empowerment and diversity are celebrated everyday. Let’s throw some extra festivities in the mix on International Women’s Day! Join us on this day for our annual art workshop. In this workshop (March 8 – 15h00-17h00) led by SEEYOUSIOE, you’ll create illustrations highlighting the strength and achievements of women and individuals worldwide who identify as women.

WHO IS SEEYOUSIOE

Sioe Jeng Tsao 曹韶盈 (32), also known as SEEYOUSIOE – is an East-Asian, Queer and neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist born in Amsterdam. Their work, consisting of vibrant paintings and digital illustrations, radiates joy and energy and is perfect for clients looking to infuse their commercial campaigns with optimism and creativity. Their artworks are an exploration of different important social aspects like LGBTQIA+ rights, mental health awareness, intersectional feminism, sustainability, racial justice and gender equity.

COURSE OF THE WORKSHOP

• Introduction: Welcome and presentation of the theme.
• Inspiration and Discussion: Explore examples of art depicting women’s strength and discuss the role of art in promoting gender equality.
• Creative Session: Engage in creating illustrations that amplify unheard women’s stories, fostering expression and creativity.
• Break and Gallery Walk: Relax and admire each other’s work during a brief break.
• Reflection and Discussion: Group reflection on the illustrations and the impact of art in celebrating female empowerment.
• Conclusion: Summarizing of our key insights 

WHAT TO DO AFTER?

After the workshop, there’s Happy Oyster Hour in EAST – with oysters for €1,5/piece between 18:00-19:00. Explore diverse stands, focused on female fun & education, and enjoy the perfect fusion of oysters and the spirit of International Women’s Day.
