YOUR AMSTERDAM TRIP
DURING ADE 2022
It is slowly turning October. That means coloured leaves on the trees, the last warm rays of sun, and putting on an extra layer of clothes. But hey! It also means ADE 2022. Every year, the weekend around the 20th in Amsterdam is all about dancing, music, and incredible artists worldwide. At unique and unusual venues, it’s big party time. But where should you go? Casa’s here to the rescue!
We already got a rich taste of danceable Amsterdam last year. But this year, the organizers of ADE go the extra mile. How are you celebrating ADE this year? Will you take a passe-partout and go out and about? Or do you prefer going to one or a few events from the overfull agenda? We will help you pick so that you can see everything clearly.
Africa Rising – Saturday 22 October
Dancing at school, we love it. And we do it all over again at Africa Rising. Afrobeats and house on Saturday at Het Sieraad in Amsterdam-West. Het Sieraad is a beautiful old school building from 1922 and has been functioning as a school ever since. But now, it is also a place where you can dine, have meetings, and party the night away. During Africa Rising, you will dance to the hottest afrobeats in the big glass hall of Het Sieraad from 23:00 – 06:00h. If you feel like throwing your whole body into the music, you should buy your ticket now.
Slapfunk in Shelter – Saturday 22 October
A big name in the Amsterdam club scene. Slapfunk is once again present at ADE 2022. This time, the label takes over Shelter in Amsterdam North from 00:00 – 08:00h. Their ground-shaking sound Is unmissable in today’s music. Dungeon Funk, Brawther, Julian Alexander, Tristan Da Cunha, Samuel Deep, and Locklead – you check them out on Saturday at Shelter. Are you not even a little bit done with dancing? Then take the elevator from Shelter to The Loft for part 2.

Youssou N’Dour & Super Étoile de Dakar – Wednesday 19 October
ADE at the Concertgebouw: you want to experience that. On Wednesday from 20:15 – 22:35h, Youssou N’Dour will take the stage with his band Super Étoile de Dakar. This fantastic musical combination from Senegal will bring dance music to the Concertgebouw with a new sound from West Africa. Senegalese singing, percussion, and jazz, soul, funk, and pop influences. Experience it from the Great Hall in the Concertgebouw.
No Art x ADE Weekender – 21 till 23 Oct
Please do it for the music, do it for the city. During ADE, No Art parties in the Hollandsche Manege for three days. This historic venue is next to the Vondelpark, and before you know it, you drive past. The stables are right between the houses on the Overtoom (road). You must have been here once, and even bonus points if you will dance there! A great lineup and a great light show. Choose one day or go for all 3! Every day starts at 14:00h and ends at 23:00h.
Breakfast Club Weekender – 22 & 23 Oct
A bit further away, but 100% worth the ‘effort’. In Zaandam, you’ll find the North Sea Venue. A sturdy factory, built in 1947 and definitely not your standard party venue. This old factory is full of mysterious corridors, cozy corners, and large rooms where there must be dancing. On Saturday, the Breakfast Club Weekender starts there. Right in time for breakfast, the party begins at 10 am on both days – a tasty lineup from start to finish in all areas of the North Sea Venue. On Sunday, the whole party happily starts all over again.

Immersive Experience by Joris Voorn & Johana Kroft – 21 & 22 Oct
Techno legend Joris Voorn joins forces with 3D artist Johana Kroft. An audiovisual experience, co-sponsored by Philips, at Hotel De L’Europe in the center of Amsterdam. On Friday or Saturday from 12:00 – 17:00h, you can submerge yourself in the creative couple’s immersive experience. Joris’ beats pull you into the screen, where you admire Johana’s bubbly 3D art. Visuals and sound perfectly matched. Imagine yourself with your friends and 3D glasses.
Doing Business in Areas of Conflict and Controversy – Thursday 20 October
The Middle East is increasingly raising its profile with dance music alongside culture and sports. Money and opportunities are all around, but so are controversial approaches to human rights and inequality in some countries. This debate will look at the opportunities and risks of doing business in the Middle East and what can be won. How can the Middle Eastern music scene be present while the ‘business as usual’ continues behind the scenes? An interesting debate on the importance of music combined with human rights at Felix Meritis in the center of Amsterdam.
Ratherlost x Lofi – Friday 21 October
A bit outside the city, but in the heart of industrial clubbing. That’s where you’ll find the warehouse club, Lofi. This joint is well-occupied throughout ADE and kicks off the music event with Ratherlost on Friday. Step into a world of freedom and being completely yourself. Ratherlost stands for dancing all night without prejudice and judgment. This event has a no-camera policy. Therefore, your phone will be taped at the entrance – ten hours of enjoying the very best techno full of good energy.
