About the Smokey Old Fashioned
The Smokey Old Fashioned, a captivating twist on the classic cocktail, combines the timeless charm of bourbon or rye whiskey with a hint of innovation. Prepared by muddling a sugar cube with dashes of Angostura bitters and garnished with an orange peel, the true magic of this drink lies in its smoky allure, often achieved through smoked glass or wood chips. This cocktail is a true masterpiece, bringing together the elegance of tradition and a touch of modern sophistication in a single glass.
A quick cocktail recipe

Place the sugar cube (or simple syrup) in an old-fashioned glass (also known as a rocks glass).

Add the Angostura bitters to the glass.

Gently muddle the sugar and bitters together to dissolve the sugar. If using simple syrup, skip this step.

Fill the glass with ice cubes.

Pour the bourbon or rye whiskey over the ice.

Stir gently for about 15-20 seconds to mix the ingredients and chill the cocktail.

Garnish with a twist of orange peel (expressing the oils over the drink by squeezing it over the glass) or a maraschino cherry.
