The new menu of Restaurant EAST

I have been a chef at Hotel Casa since April this year. After two weeks, I already wrote down the entire menu. Because we were a small team then, the release of the menu took some time. But now it’s here and you can order the full menu all day long. Because who says you can’t eat pancakes at your lunch in Amsterdam? 

I wanted our menu to fit everyone at any time. And because our audience is very diverse as well, I wanted to reflect that on my plates. Locals, day-trippers and, of course, many hotel guests. People come from all over the world to eat at Restaurant EAST and you see that in my dishes. I find it important that there is something tasty on the menu for everyone.

Shared dining in Amsterdam East

I love colorful and burgundy cooking, rich flavors, comfort food and dining together. That is why Casa’s shared dining concept suits my personal cooking style so well. I like it to be rustic, I am not a tweezer chef.

Agnes’ culinary inspiration 

I’m really overflowing with cookbooks at home. But I also tempt myself with culinary programs, series, and magazines. I read, listen and taste for myself, keep up with food trends, see what restaurants around me are serving and hear from friends what they experienced. I enjoy combining all these different elements and trends.

The best ribs in Amsterdam

If I had to choose my favorite dish on the menu, it would be a battle between the Iberico ribs and the pulpo. Deep down I already know, of course. I’ll go for the ribs. My signature dish that I have been making for years, always with big success. Amazing that I can now share it here with our guests.

International dinner at Restaurant EAST 

The menu is now mainly Asian, but you really can eat a bit of everything at Restaurant EAST. Especially with the shared dining dishes. I am already working on our next menu. I don’t want to give away too much already, but I would like to have more soul food and Surinamese dishes on the menu. So, who knows, in three months’ time, you might taste completely different food at our restaurant in Amsterdam East!
